Foster Davis loves guitars. Whether he is playing his Jackson King-V or admiring a Gibson SG, the next guitar that he wishes to add to his collection, Foster cannot get enough of the instrument that he began playing when he was 10 years old. After months of begging, Foster’s parents purchased his first guitar as a Christmas gift. Shortly after receiving his guitar, his grandmother enrolled him into Rock School, a program at the local music store, Mom’s Music.
The Rock school program opened a new world to Foster and he hasn’t put down that guitar since learning his first riff. Foster saves the money he earns from the gigs he plays with his band, The Trouble With Boys. He uses the money for guitar lessons and plans to save until he can purchase the Gibson SG.
How much does Foster love guitars? Just ask him what he hopes to do the rest of his life – and he will say be a rock star or own a guitar company. To achieve this dream, Foster plans to attend college and major in music.
Foster enjoys a wide variety of music including classic rock and hard rock. His favorite song to perform is “Helter Skelter.” His knowledge of rock music shows whenever he introduces his favorite song by informing the crowd that “Helter Skelter” was The Beatles’ song about a roller coaster. His love of the song is a tribute to The Beatles and an effort to free the song from its infamous reputation connected to Charles Manson. Foster’s favorite bands include: Blink 182, Queen, and the Misfits. His favorite guitar players are Queen’s Brian May and Slash.
All great bands are made of musicians who understand their role. Jagger and Richards, Lennon and McCartney – someone provides lyrics and someone writes the riffs. Together they create the magical combination for a hit song. Foster tries to find that musical hook for his band. Foster loves to begin practice showing off his latest riff. He leads the way with his Jackson Flying-V and the band tears into a jam session that may become their next song.
